ABOUT ME
My Story
I was a child soldier and street hawker. I carried ice water and ice blocks on my head at Iddo motor park Lagos from sunrise to sunset. However, I never forgot that during my primary school days, I was sometimes on top of my class. But most of our village kids never attended secondary school due to lack of money.
Project
MOTHER'S DEATH WISH
Ezekuna Peace University Project
In 1984, my mother died on my laps while taking her to the hospital. Her last words were: “Ewa promise me you will build a school and a hospital for Ntsokara people.” When I told my friend, Prof Pamela Louis-Walden about my mother’s wish, Her response was, “Why Not? Through Pam’s visionary leadership, our American friends have generously donated time and money ($65,000) to help me fulfil my mother’s death wish. (See Peace University building). Become a part of the peacemakers’ community.

Education is Key to Success
In 2004, I graduated with a Ph.D. degree from the prestigious Howard University. My story is a testimony that child soldiers, street gangsters and terrorists can be educated and reintegrated into society as useful citizens. We, the ex-Biafran soldiers are veterans without healthcare or education benefits. From my own experience, education is the secret key that opens the locked doors of opportunities and better life. Ewa Unoke Institute of Transitional Justice is committed to establishing Africa’s first transitional justice and peace university at Ntsokara, Ebonyi State, Nigeria.
MISSION: Transitional Justice Education and Research founded on Truth telling, Justice, reconciliation.
PROJECT: To establish the world’s first transitional justice and peace university.
